Many people may not realize it, but the Wilson Family has been in the roofing industry for 100 years when B.C. Beckman (Ev Wilson Sr's Grandfather) went to work for the Rubberoid Company selling roofing. In the 1920's, he began manufacturing the "tapered" asphalt shingle at this plant in Michigan. This plant was later sold to the Flintkote company.

This building on Elston Avenue was the original site for Wilson Wholesale Supply. This is where Ev Wilson Sr. first went into business on his own distributing roofing materials. He previously worked for this Grandfather's roofing distribution company in Cicero, Illinois.

In 1990, Wilson Enterprises brought the concept of Roofstocking to Chicago. This is the process of delivering the material directly to the roof, making it more convenient for the roofing contractor.
